About the Artist

Each of my weavings is a labor of love, from designing on paper, dying outside over a propane fire, warping the loom to actual weaving.  The best part of all is when I unroll the cloth from the front beam and see the weaving revealed.

My first loom was a $50 barn loom I hauled home in the back of our ’67 VW van.  After 2 years of being a self-taught weaver, I studied under the direction Lollie Jacobson at the Mendocino Art Center in Mendocino, CA.  I became obsessed with the early American and Shaker weaving and keep the heritage of the old patterns alive by weaving Heirlooms and Keepsakes for today.

I am a member of the Gorge Handweavers Guild, Hood River, OR and share weaving ideas with my friends at the Grace Carter Weavers, Odell, OR.  Being a guild member and active in the weaving community keeps my creativity alive by sharing my love for weaving with so many enthusiastic weavers.
